Cash Applications Specialist I

About the role

Johnson & Johnson is hiring a Cash Applications Specialist in Paranaque, Philippines, within its finance function (AP/AR). The specialist processes customer receipts and adjustments accurately and on time for the business sectors and countries served by GS Manila.

Key responsibilities

• Process and reconcile cash receipts, bank statements and remittance advice.
• Ensure all incoming payments applied are balanced, free of discrepancies and comply with policies and procedures.
• Work closely with the Collections team on customer payment and claims reconciliation.
• Prepare customer statements of account, refund requests and write-offs/write-ons when there are credits on the account.
• Generate and reconcile closing reports.
• Meet service levels and targets set out in Service Level Agreements.
• Escalate issues properly and on time so they are resolved to meet internal and external expectations.
• Identify improvement opportunities and take part in process improvement projects within Cash Applications and AR reporting.
• Keep process documentation current and support internal or external audits as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with a variety of stakeholders.
• Foreign language capability (Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Thai) is a plus.
• Experience in a shared services centre of a multinational corporation is desirable.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of SAP is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Excellent data entry and processing skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to multitask, manage several deadlines and work independently with minimal supervision.
