Reinsurance Actuary

About the role

Marsh Re (formerly Guy Carpenter) is looking for a Reinsurance Actuary to join its Global Analytics and Advisory team in the Manila office, supporting the firm's growth in the Philippines and across the region. The role combines technical actuarial expertise, reinsurance strategy and client-facing problem solving, and is hybrid with at least three days a week in the office.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a strategic partner with brokers and clients, helping them solve complex problems and build broking-aligned strategies that support revenue generation.
• Translate complex technical analysis into clear, practical insights for brokers and clients.
• Build and apply complex models to assess risk and develop pricing and strategies across a range of exposures.
• Evaluate and design optimized reinsurance structures, considering the impact on clients' earning volatility, capital position and financial objectives.
• Use AI-enabled approaches to streamline repeatable work such as analysis setup, sensitivity testing, QA checks, documentation and executive summaries, while keeping actuarial standards, judgement and controls.
• Mentor and train junior colleagues.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of experience in non-life (re)insurance; prior experience in property & casualty (re)insurance, pricing, capital modeling and/or catastrophe modeling is preferred.
• Qualified or near-qualified actuary (FCAS, FIA or FIAA).
• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics or a related field.
• Excellent communication, presentation and project management skills, and strong ability to manage competing priorities.

Required skills

• Coding experience in tools and languages such as Python, Alteryx, R, VBA and SQL.
• Comfort with modern analytics platforms such as Databricks.
