Reinsurance Treaty Technical Accounts Technician

About the role

A new Guy Carpenter business division to be established within Marsh Philippines is looking for a Reinsurance Treaty Technical Accounts technician in Manila. You will own technical treaty matters from placement through accounting and settlement, ensuring correct interpretation of treaty wordings, limits, coverages and exclusions.

Key responsibilities

• Validate treaty terms, endorsements and final contract documentation, and enter data accurately into core systems to support premium invoicing and accounting.
• Review and process technical statements of account, claims advices and billings in line with team procedures and professional standards.
• Manage claims administration according to treaty wording, including assessment of coverage, application of limits and exclusions, and preparation of supporting documentation for payments.
• Monitor outstanding loss reserves for inward and outward treaties and escalate technical issues where appropriate.
• Respond promptly and clearly to queries from clients, reinsurers, brokers and internal stakeholders, escalating complex matters and driving resolution.
• Produce regular regulatory and internal reports (e.g. quarterly reports) and keep documentation meeting professional standards and audit requirements.
• Contribute to process improvements, controls and knowledge sharing to strengthen technical accounting and claims workflows.

Required profile

• Prior experience processing treaty technical accounts and/or claims in a reinsurance broking or reinsurance company.
• Solid understanding of treaty reinsurance concepts, contract wordings and claims management.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, comfortable with financial data and reconciliations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, able to explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills preferred.
• Confident working with data-entry and accounting systems.
