Piping Engineer - Maintenance & Shutdown Projects (Onsite)

About the role

An Australian engineering consultancy is hiring an experienced Piping Engineer to support its Australian-based project teams on brownfield projects in mining, minerals processing, ports, power generation and heavy industry. The role provides engineering design, analysis and documentation support to Australian lead engineers; it is technical delivery focused, with the Australian engineers retaining client management, project management and engineering sign-off. The position is onsite in Ortigas, Alabang, Pampanga or Cebu, with a 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Support brownfield plant modifications and upgrades, and design and engineering of new systems.
• Handle serviceability and maintenance of ageing systems and engineering analysis of repairs.
• Prepare engineering reports, specifications and scopes of work.
• Review and check engineering drawings and models.
• Collaborate with Australian engineers, designers and project managers.
• Select and document piping materials, valves, supports and inline components, and review isometric drawings, P&IDs and civil-structural interface documents.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
• Consulting engineer experience on multiple jobs with specific budgets and schedules.
• Project experience in mining, minerals processing, power generation or heavy industry.
• Demonstrated experience applying ASME and API standards.
• Desirable: experience on Australian mining and industrial projects, and familiarity with AS 1210, AS 4041, AS 3788, AS/NZS 1200F, ASME B31.3, ASME Section VIII Div 1 and API 510/570/650.

Required skills

• Piping layouts, equipment plot plans and 3D models with CAD tools.
• Piping and tank stress analysis and flexibility evaluations.
• Ability to work efficiently in a 3D model-based design environment.
• Preferred: AutoCAD Plant 3D or SolidWorks, Caesar II or AutoPIPE, Compress, Navisworks, SharePoint.
