Patient Services Representative

About the role

A fully remote Patient Services Representative handles patient queries and concerns, coordinating information between patients, family members, medical personnel and administrators. The role covers answering calls, assisting with billing and account questions, and collecting outstanding balances, while respecting medical privacy regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls according to procedure and departmental standards, and assist patients with their queries and concerns.
• Collect patients' outstanding balances and assist third-party entities such as insurers with account questions.
• Place outbound collection calls and assist patients with billing queries.
• Safeguard protected health information in line with HIPAA guidelines.
• Be a team player supporting department and company goals, and maintain a reliable attendance record.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required profile

• College graduate or at least 2 years in college; a degree or course in a medical field is a plus.
• At least 1 year of call center experience related to medical accounts and programs is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work with confidential information.
• Detail oriented, organized, able to set priorities and meet deadlines.
• Flexible with schedule.

• Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
