Operator I – Production Operator

About the role

The Operator I supports daily production activities at Microchip Technology, ensuring smooth lot movement, equipment handling, and compliance with environmental and quality standards. This position works on the shop floor, coordinating with schedulers and supervisors to keep the line running efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and support the Environmental Management System (EMS), Quality Management System (QMS) and Electro‑Static Discharge (ESD) procedures.
• Verify documentation before endorsement and ensure clear execution of instructions.
• Expedite lot movement from cage operation to line set‑up and monitor production downtime for “wtg set‑up”.
• Retrieve and prepare hardware (loadboard/probecard) for newly converted stations as indicated on the e‑board.
• Handle equipment such as trolleys and pushcarts safely when transporting lots.
• Maintain housekeeping and 5S standards at the “Next lot Rack” and ensure proper lot placement.
• Report emergencies, absences, and leave requests to the immediate supervisor.
• Escalate any line issues to the supervisor on duty.

• Excellent listening skills and adaptability to changing priorities.

Required skills

• Familiarity with EMS (Environmental Management System).
• Knowledge of QMS (Quality Management System) processes.
• Understanding of ESD (Electro‑Static Discharge) controls.
• Experience applying 5S workplace organization.
