Mining Engineer – Underground Operations

About the role

OceanaGold is seeking a Mining Engineer to support underground mining activities at the Didipio mine in the Philippines. The role ensures operations align with Life of Mine plans while upholding safety, compliance and performance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Support short‑term planning, drill & blast, ventilation, backfill, load & haul, development and dispatch activities.
• Assist in developing and executing mine plans to meet production and development targets.
• Monitor operational performance and recommend improvements for productivity and efficiency.
• Prepare and review mine designs, schedules and engineering reports.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company standards and industry best practices.
• Identify and manage workplace risks, promote safety culture and participate in incident investigations.
• Conduct field inspections to verify critical controls are effective.
• Collaborate with operational teams to optimise mining activities and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Degree in Mining Engineering and registration as a Mining Engineer.
• Current driver’s licence, radio operator’s licence and ventilation engineer registration.
• Minimum 2 years of underground mining experience.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication abilities.
• Safety‑focused with attention to detail and ability to work independently or in a team.

Required skills

• Proficiency with mine design software.
• Microsoft Office suite.
