Jumbo Operator – Underground Mining

About the role

OceanaGold is looking for an experienced Jumbo Operator to run and maintain jumbo drilling equipment at the underground Didipio mine in the Philippines. The role reports to the mining supervisor and contributes to safe, efficient drilling operations.

Key responsibilities

• Operate Sandvik DD421 jumbo drilling equipment safely and efficiently in underground conditions.
• Apply advanced drilling techniques and technologies to improve drilling accuracy and productivity.
• Train and mentor junior operators, sharing best practices and operational guidance.
• Operate additional underground mining equipment as required.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years experience operating jumbo drills, preferably with Sandvik DD421.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Strong knowledge of mining operations and safety protocols.
• Demonstrated alignment with OceanaGold values (Care, Respect, Integrity, Performance, Teamwork).
