Manager, Wind Construction (Electrical Balance of Plant)

About the role

This site‑based position oversees all Electrical Balance of Plant (BOP) construction activities for a utility‑scale wind farm. The manager supervises cabling, substation, and transmission line works, coordinates with contractors, utilities and grid operators, and ensures compliance with QA/QC, safety, and contractual requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and control BOP contractor work for cabling, substations and transmission lines.
• Coordinate electrical scope communication with contractors and authorities.
• Lead a site‑based team of Quality Controllers and Electrical Engineers.
• Manage Grid Connection Agreements and interface with grid operators.
• Develop and implement Contract Management Plans.
• Verify contractor deliveries, maintain QA records and ensure Basis for Design compliance.
• Run daily logs for contractual reference and support milestone approvals.
• Implement risk management and environmental protection measures.
• Track progress against schedule, report daily progress, and accept completed work.
• Ensure safety leadership through toolbox talks, inductions and risk assessments.

Required profile

• Licensed Electrical Engineer.
• 5–10 years of construction engineering experience in power generation projects.
• Prior experience in wind power projects (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of the Philippine Grid Code, Philippine Electrical Code (PEC) and international electrical standards.
