Logistics Ocean Sourcing Analyst

About the role

3M is seeking a Global Ocean Logistics Sourcing Analyst to support global ocean freight sourcing, rate management, contract administration, spend analytics, supplier coordination, and transportation reporting. The role partners with logistics sourcing, regional transportation teams, freight forwarders, carriers, finance, and audit teams to drive efficient, cost‑effective, data‑driven ocean logistics operations.

Key responsibilities

• Support ocean freight sourcing activities, including spot quote processes in Ship Angel, rate card management, and ocean benchmark reporting through Drewry and Xeneta.
• Upload weekly ocean freight rates into AS400 for multiple countries and maintain rate cards, pricing documentation, and contract amendments.
• Assist freight forwarders and carriers with transportation and regulatory documentation and resolve operational issues.
• Track and report MQC performance, manage quarterly BAF and fuel surcharge updates, and support top‑20 lane year‑over‑year analysis.
• Create the annual Global Spend File, consolidate spend analytics, and develop Power BI dashboards for spend and shipment profiles.
• Maintain vendor repositories, support GEP and IPS project management, and collaborate with finance teams on reporting and data accuracy.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher.
• At least three years of experience in logistics sourcing, ocean freight, transportation, supply chain, procurement, finance reporting, or analytics.
• Fluency in English and strong attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across regions and functions.

Required skills

• Experience with Ship Angel, Drewry, Xeneta, and AS400.
• Familiarity with GEP, IPS, APAC GCS, Data2Logistics, and freight audit/payment platforms.
• Proficiency in Power BI for dashboard creation.
• Knowledge of TMS/ERP systems such as SAP, Blue Yonder, or Oracle.
