About the role

The Helmholtz Einstein International Berlin Research School (HEIBRiDS) invites highly motivated graduates to join a fully‑funded PhD program in Data Science at the Max Delbrück Center in Berlin. The position offers an interdisciplinary environment where data‑driven methods are applied to molecular medicine and other scientific domains.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct independent research within a PhD project focused on Data Science.
• Develop and apply Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Explainable AI, and Large Language Models.
• Perform mathematical and statistical modelling of complex datasets.
• Analyze and interpret data from fields such as molecular medicine, energy, environment, geosciences, and astronomy.
• Collaborate with researchers across Helmholtz centers and partner universities.
• Present findings at conferences and publish in scientific journals.
• Participate in structured training and qualification programs offered by HEIBRiDS.
