Fully-funded PhD position in Data Science – Interdisciplinary Research (Berlin)

About the role

The Helmholtz Einstein International Berlin Research School (HEIBRiDS) invites highly motivated graduates to join a fully‑funded PhD program in Data Science at the Max Delbrück Center in Berlin. You will work in an interdisciplinary environment that bridges molecular medicine, energy, environment, geosciences and astronomy.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct independent research within a PhD project focused on Data Science.
• Develop and apply Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Explainable AI and Large Language Models.
• Perform mathematical and statistical modelling of complex datasets.
• Analyse and interpret data across multiple application domains.
• Collaborate with researchers from Helmholtz centres and partner universities.
• Present and publish results at conferences and in scientific journals.
• Participate in structured training and qualification programs of HEIBRiDS.

Required profile

• Highly motivated graduate with a strong interest in Data Science.
• Willingness to work in an interdisciplinary, international research environment.
