About the role
The Employee Relations Assistant supports the Employee Relations Manager in handling disciplinary actions, mediating conflicts, and promoting a culture of accountability and recognition within Mary Grace Foods. The role also contributes to coaching, counseling, and employee engagement through cultural and spiritual initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and ensure timely processing of Hear You Out (HYO) reports and audit findings that require disciplinary action.
- Conduct formal investigations and interviews, draft disciplinary decision documents, and communicate outcomes while maintaining confidential case records.
- Facilitate mediation between departments or individuals, design intervention strategies, and recommend proactive measures to prevent conflict escalation.
- Design, implement, and refine the employee commendation and reward system in partnership with department heads, overseeing nomination validation and documentation.
- Guide department heads and supervisors in performance and behavior‑related coaching sessions and deliver training on effective coaching and feedback.
- Collaborate with the Cultural and Spiritual Affairs team to plan and facilitate employee engagement activities that reinforce values‑based and well‑being programs.
- Model and uphold Mary Grace Foods’ vision, mission, values, and customer service standards, handling sensitive and confidential employee matters.
- Promote diversity, inclusion, and cultural sensitivity, ensuring a welcoming environment for all employees.
- Perform additional tasks assigned by the immediate superior to support departmental goals.
Required profile
- Strong understanding of disciplinary processes, investigations, and due‑process compliance.
- Excellent facilitation and mediation skills for conflict resolution.
- Ability to design and manage employee recognition programs.
- Experience in coaching, counseling, and delivering training workshops.
- Commitment to company values, ethics, and cultural inclusivity.
- High level of confidentiality and discretion in handling employee matters.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing tasks and departmental needs.
