Design Associate I

About the role

The Design Associate I supports the design team in delivering innovative, cost‑effective architectural solutions for assigned projects. Working under the guidance of senior professionals, the role evolves into an independent contributor who coordinates across disciplines.

Key responsibilities

• Develop conceptual design packages for review by the Design Manager.
• Perform dimensional, interference and basic design checks on layouts and sketches.
• Conduct analysis, calculations and safety‑focused design reviews.
• Prepare detailed design drawings, specifications and construction documents that meet owner criteria and code requirements.
• Assist in the production of drawing sets, plot/assembly of packages and creation of presentation materials.
• Review shop drawings and submittal data for compliance with contract documents.
• Support field inspections, resolve on‑site issues and prepare record drawings.
• Create work plans, monitor personal workload and report progress to the Licensed Professional of Record.
• Document meetings, maintain orderly files and adhere to project strategy.
• Travel as required and perform other duties assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant architectural design experience.
• Preferably a Registered Architect.
• Strong understanding of compliance and code requirements.
