Bilingual Spanish Medical Assistant – Orthopedics & Sports Medicine (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for a compassionate, detail‑oriented Medical Assistant fluent in Spanish and English to support our Orthopedics, Sports Medicine, and Physical Therapy team. The position is fully remote and combines direct patient care, clinical support, care coordination, and administrative duties to ensure a seamless patient experience from check‑in through follow‑up.

Key responsibilities

• Room patients, obtain vital signs, and document medical histories and concerns.
• Assist physicians during orthopedic, sports medicine, and physical therapy visits, including minor in‑office procedures.
• Prepare examination rooms, instruments, equipment, and clinical supplies.
• Support physical therapy workflows by preparing patients for treatment and reinforcing exercise instructions.
• Communicate clearly with patients in both Spanish and English, providing interpretation for treatment plans, medications, imaging orders, and follow‑up care.
• Document encounters, referrals, imaging requests, and therapy updates in the EHR.
• Handle inbound/outbound patient calls and messages using RingCentral or similar systems.
• Coordinate appointments, referrals, and follow‑up visits, collaborating with physicians, therapists, and administrative staff.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent) preferred.
• Fluent in spoken and written Spanish and English.
• Experience in orthopedics, sports medicine, physical therapy, or related rehabilitation settings.
• Familiarity with electronic health records and clinical documentation.
• Strong interpersonal and patient‑service skills, with the ability to multitask in a busy clinical environment.
