Auditor, Internal Controls Assurance

About the role

The Auditor, Internal Controls Assurance will conduct control audits across QBE's global finance environment, standardise processes and documentation, and work closely with divisional accounting teams to remediate deficiencies. The position reports to the Team Lead, Internal Controls Assurance and has a matrix line to the Head of Group Finance Operation Risk & Assurance.

Key responsibilities

• Undertake control audits, assess operating effectiveness of controls and evaluate supporting documentation.
• Monitor testing universe, risk profiles and regulatory requirements, and recommend updates to assurance methodology.
• Identify improvements to assurance testing programs and use related technology such as WDesk.
• Deliver reviews on time and within budget, conduct special investigations and ad‑hoc requests.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in internal audit or financial controls within financial services or insurance.
• Strong understanding of risk, internal control concepts, accounting and basic Philippines regulatory compliance.
• Ability to work independently, coach team members and communicate findings to senior management.

Required skills

• Proficiency with WDesk audit software.
• Experience using data analysis tools and desktop applications for financial reporting.
• Knowledge of internal auditing standards, governance frameworks and risk assessment practices.
