Audit Manager

About the role

SGV, the largest professional services firm in the Philippines and a member firm of Ernst & Young, is hiring an Audit Manager in Makati City. The role sits in the Financial Assurance Services practice and involves working with the engagement team to prepare audit work programs and reports, run complex audit procedures, review and coach team members, build client relationships and collaborate with colleagues across the firm.

Key responsibilities

• Demonstrate expertise in Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS) and in related financial reporting matters, as well as in relevant SEC, BIR, BSP and IC regulations.
• Apply current audit techniques to carry out complex audit procedures while leading teams or parts of teams on engagements.
• Identify areas of risk in the client's business and define the appropriate audit approach.
• Arrange discussions with clients, give authoritative advice and build strong relationships with client personnel.
• Provide leadership, judgement and administrative direction to the audit team.
• Create a positive learning culture and coach and counsel junior team members, supporting their personal and professional development.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy.
• At least 6 years of work experience in external audit, including at least 4 years in a leadership role supervising associates and senior associates.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of accounting and auditing standards (PFRS, PAS) and taxation.
• Knowledge of PFRS, SEC, BIR, BSP and IC regulations.
