About the role
The Associate Travel Consultant supports SMEC Global, ANZ Operations and SJ Operations by coordinating and booking business travel for internal resources. The role acts as a liaison between travelers and travel vendors, ensuring smooth travel arrangements and up‑to‑date advice on regulations.
Key responsibilities
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of office systems and processes for the Global Travel Group.
- Act as liaison between internal clients (travelers) and travel vendors.
- Discuss travel requirements with clients via phone or email.
- Advise clients on domestic and international destinations, accommodation, transport, insurance and fares.
- Prepare customized itineraries to match client preferences and budgets.
- Make and confirm bookings using email, phone, a Global Distribution System (e.g., Sabre) or online tools.
- Provide up‑to‑date advice on visa, medical, baggage, safety and local customs.
- Research and recommend optimal travel options.
- Modify existing bookings as client circumstances change.
- Stay informed on travel industry news and destination information.
- Participate in ongoing training with team members and management.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of personal details and itineraries.
- Handle ad‑hoc tasks as requested.
