About the role

The Senior Manager, Onboarding leads the crew onboarding function for Royal Caribbean Group, ensuring a seamless, compliant, and efficient experience for seafarers worldwide. This strategic position shapes the marine onboarding strategy, works closely with shipboard and shoreside teams, and drives operational efficiency across global operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the onboarding strategy aligned with corporate KPIs.
• Lead a team of onboarding specialists and documentation coordinators, fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
• Oversee end‑to‑end crew onboarding, including documentation verification, medical clearances, visa/work permit processing, and compliance checks (MLC, STCW).
• Collaborate with Operations, Scheduling, Compliance, and HR to align crew movement and workforce planning.
• Use data‑driven insights to improve onboarding efficiency, optimize processes, and implement technology enhancements.
• Manage escalated cases involving visas, medical evaluations, background checks, and last‑minute crew changes.
• Standardize onboarding policies and procedures across the fleet to meet regulatory and corporate requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading onboarding or crew deployment functions in a maritime or global environment.
• Strong understanding of international maritime regulations such as MLC and STCW.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high‑performing teams.
• Excellent collaboration skills with cross‑functional stakeholders.
