Tax Specialist

About the role

The Tax Specialist is responsible for preparing, reviewing and ensuring compliance of financial and tax information across regional offices. The role supports Finance Officers, Team Leaders and internal departments by providing guidance on tax regulations and best practices, particularly within the transportation, logistics, or express delivery sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor day‑to‑day finance and tax processes of regional offices for compliance.
• Ensure adherence to Revenue District Office (RDO) and Local Government Unit (LGU) requirements.
• Review and validate supporting documents against Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) standards.
• Assist in preparing and submitting letters, documents and reports to the BIR.
• Support document preparation for BIR audits and liaise with LGUs and other government agencies.
• Prepare, review and assist in tax declarations across various tax types.
• Participate in tax risk management initiatives and recommend compliance improvements.
• Provide guidance to internal stakeholders on taxation and regulatory matters.
• Perform additional tax‑related and finance‑related duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Accounting Technology, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum three (3) years of tax experience, preferably in a large organization.
• Strong background in tax compliance, declaration and risk management.
• Experience in transportation, logistics or express delivery industries is highly preferred.
• Ability to work independently under pressure and manage multiple projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with accounting/financial software.
