SEO/GEO Specialist – Full‑Stack SEO & AI Search

About the role

Salt is a Brisbane‑based digital marketing agency serving B2B clients in trade, industrial, construction and professional services. We are expanding our SEO capability and need a specialist to work alongside our SEO lead on a mixed portfolio of established sites and brand‑new domains. The role combines content creation, technical optimisation and emerging AI‑search (GEO) strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Write and implement on‑page content, service pages, blog articles and supporting copy with high‑quality, human‑focused writing.
• Conduct keyword research, build keyword strategies and prioritise targets for traffic growth.
• Perform technical SEO audits and implement fixes on WordPress (Elementor) and Shopify sites, including site speed, schema, crawlability and internal linking.
• Build domain authority through backlink acquisition, outreach, digital PR and link‑building campaigns.
• Develop and execute GEO strategies to optimise content for AI‑generated answers in ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity.
• Research complex B2B client services to produce authoritative content.
• Stay up‑to‑date with Google algorithm updates, AI search developments and best practices, applying insights proactively.

Required profile

• Proven experience in both content SEO and technical SEO, comfortable writing long‑form pages and fixing crawl errors.
• Strong copywriting ability, using AI as a tool rather than a crutch.
• Experience building visibility for websites from zero and patience to grow them.
• Data‑literacy to interpret keyword data, traffic trends and performance metrics.
• Familiarity with AI search and GEO strategies, either implemented or actively experimenting.
• Curious and adaptable, able to quickly become a credible voice in niche B2B industries.
