Senior Marine Structures Engineer

About the role

The Senior Marine Structures Engineer will lead the design, analysis and delivery of waterfront infrastructure such as jetties, piers, wharves, berthing dolphins and breakwaters. Reporting to senior management, the engineer will act as Engineer of Record, owning the technical and regulatory aspects from concept through construction and decommissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Perform and review advanced structural calculations and analyses for marine assets.
• Act as Engineer of Record, taking full regulatory and technical ownership throughout the project lifecycle.
• Conduct on‑site inspections to verify construction against design drawings and make high‑level decisions on material or design deviations.
• Prepare technical proposals, manage project scopes, monitor budgets and schedules, and mentor junior‑to‑mid‑level engineers.
• Coordinate with coastal engineers, geologists, environmental teams and marine contractors to optimise constructability in subsea environments.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a senior structural engineer in marine or waterfront projects.
• Ability to take full responsibility for regulatory compliance and technical delivery.
• Strong project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling and team leadership.
• Experience working with multidisciplinary teams and external contractors.
