Senior Accountant

About the role

The Senior Accountant will oversee daily financial transactions and support project accounting across manufacturing and service operations. Working closely with project managers, procurement, engineering and leadership, the role ensures accurate reporting and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise month‑end close, perform balance‑sheet reconciliations and prepare management accounts while maintaining ledger integrity.
• Ensure Australian Tax Office compliance (BAS, GST, FBT), coordinate year‑end audit and produce financial statements.
• Provide analysis of financial performance versus budget, support forecasting, annual budgeting and strategic financial planning.
• Lead inventory reconciliation, analyse movements, forecast requirements and maintain balance‑sheet accuracy.
• Track project cost allocation, monitor profitability and work‑in‑progress, and liaise with project managers on variances.
• Process payroll, manage onboarding and terminations, resolve discrepancies and prepare payroll reconciliations.
• Analyse workflows, identify automation opportunities, enhance internal controls and maintain finance policies, chart of accounts and system updates.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, including at least 2 years in manufacturing, FMCG, construction or logistics.
• Demonstrated experience with Australian payroll compliance.
• Strong understanding of inventory valuation, cost allocation and work‑in‑progress accounting.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency with ERP systems.
