Remote Accountant – Australian Events Industry

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented accountant to support our Australian events business while working from home. You will manage end‑to‑end financial processes, ensure accurate reporting, and help improve our finance operations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable and receivable processes.
• Maintain financial records, ledgers, invoices, and supporting documentation.
• Process and reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and multi‑currency transactions.
• Record and categorise financial transactions accurately in Xero.
• Monitor outstanding invoices and follow up on payments.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Assist with reconciliations, audits, compliance tasks, and financial reporting.
• Support continuous improvement of finance processes and reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of Australian accounting or finance experience.
• Strong proficiency in Xero (required).
• Experience with Stripe and multi‑currency accounts is highly regarded.
• Strong Excel, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
• CA/CPA qualification is an advantage.
