QA/QC Inspector

About the role

The QA/QC Inspector will ensure that all maritime civil and structural works meet rigorous quality and safety standards. This role involves on‑site inspections, material verification, and coordination with engineering teams on port expansion and coastal infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct visual and physical inspections of pile testing, concrete pouring for quay walls, block placements for breakwaters, and dredging surveys.
• Verify incoming marine‑grade materials against project specifications and mill test certificates.
• Implement and monitor the project‑specific Inspection and Test Plan (ITP), ensuring all witness and hold points are satisfied.
• Supervise non‑destructive testing (NDT) and structural welding operations, adhering to AWS D1.1 or equivalent codes.
• Inspect surface preparation and application of marine coatings, measuring dry film thickness and confirming compliance with NACE/CBR parameters.
• Generate daily inspection logs, witness reports, and issue Non‑Conformance Reports (NCR) with tracking to closure.
• Assist in internal and external quality audits and ensure calibration of all testing equipment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Marine Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of QA/QC inspection experience, with at least 3 years on port or coastal projects.
• Strong knowledge of BS 6349, AWS D1.1, ASTM, ACI standards.
• Preferred certifications: AWS‑CWI, CSWIP 3.1, AMPP/NACE Level 2 or BGAS‑CSWIP.
• Ability to work in challenging offshore, coastal and high‑humidity environments.
