Product Development Engineer

About the role

The Product Development Engineer will lead the creation and improvement of new products from concept through production. Working closely with engineering, manufacturing, and business teams, you will ensure that designs meet customer needs, quality standards, and cost targets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop product concepts based on market research and customer requirements.
• Create 3D models, engineering drawings, and specifications using CAD tools.
• Conduct feasibility studies, prototype builds, and early‑stage testing.
• Lead technical development, including analysis, validation, and optimization.
• Perform tolerance analysis, material selection, FMEA, and other engineering calculations.
• Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, QA, supply chain, and marketing.
• Build and evaluate prototypes, prepare test plans, and implement design improvements.
• Support manufacturing scale‑up, apply DFM/DFA principles, and troubleshoot production issues.
• Prepare engineering documentation, BOMs, and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Manage project timelines, resources, and communicate status to stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Product Design, Materials Engineering or related field (Master’s a plus).
• 2–5+ years of experience in product development, engineering design, or R&D.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication abilities.
• Proven ability to work effectively in cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• 3D CAD tools (SolidWorks, Creo, CATIA, Fusion 360, etc.).
• Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) tools.
• Design of Experiments (DOE) and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards (ISO, FDA, CE, automotive/aerospace).
