Probecard Engineer

About the role

The Probecard Engineer is responsible for maintaining and improving probe‑card performance in semiconductor manufacturing. This role focuses on reducing downtime, extending probecard life, and enhancing yield through proactive monitoring and root‑cause analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor probe‑card health to reduce downtime and accelerate root‑cause resolution.
• Implement cost‑saving measures by extending probecard insertion life and lowering rebuild frequency.
• Detect and correct probe‑related defects early to improve yield and product quality.
• Lead continuous‑improvement projects, including probecard design optimization and new technology adoption.
• Coordinate with ATO sites, production, engineering, and external vendors to align build, repair, and improvement activities.
• Maintain probecard stability across multiple platforms and device types.
• Drive reliability projects and prevent recurring hardware issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, or Electro‑Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum three years of experience as a Probecard Engineer in the semiconductor or manufacturing industry.
• Proven ability to support continuous‑improvement and cost‑reduction initiatives.

Required skills

• Extensive experience in probecard build, repair, and maintenance (cantilever and vertical technologies).
• Proficiency in probecard analysis, troubleshooting, and failure diagnostics.
• Hands‑on expertise with probecard alignment, planarity checks, and needle conditioning.
• Strong data‑analysis skills for yield, contact‑issue, and reliability assessment.
