Logistics Officer

About the role

The Logistics Officer will provide professional logistics support to Austal Philippines, optimizing modes of transport, selecting suppliers, and ensuring regulatory compliance while delivering on‑time, cost‑effective solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate freight forwarding, brokerage tracking, and statistical reporting.
• Obtain and evaluate air‑ and sea‑freight quotes, including expedited, break‑bulk, and chartered vessel options.
• Plan and monitor container arrivals, unloading, and removal to avoid detention and demurrage fees.
• Ensure compliance with Bureau of Customs, Marina regulations, and PEZA (RA No. 7916) for all imports and exports.
• Audit supplier metrics, verify invoice accuracy, and drive process improvements.
• Maintain physical and electronic logistics documentation (IP, TSAD, AEDS, 8105, 8106, 8112).
• Identify hazardous chemicals via MSDS and manage dangerous goods packaging and documentation.
• Manage relationships with logistics suppliers and PEZA, develop contracts, and monitor contractual compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in logistics, engineering, business or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in logistics, customs brokerage, supply chain or engineering.
• Strong knowledge of international trade, customs law and PEZA regulations.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.
• Analytical mindset with ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
