COX Test & Burn-In Technician

About the role

Coherent Corp. is looking for a COX Test & Burn‑In Technician to join its equipment team in the Philippines. The role focuses on repairing and maintaining test and burn‑in equipment, supporting production efficiency, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Perform repair of assigned equipment and keep documentation such as work instructions, maintenance plans, check sheets, and calibration records up to date.
• Support equipment qualification, transfer, and machine buy‑off while ensuring compliance with operational standards.
• Provide technical support to sustain efficient operations, monitoring machine availability, preventive maintenance, calibration hit rate, SPC, efficiency, productivity, yield and quality.
• Initiate equipment improvements, modifications and cost‑saving projects using data‑driven analysis.
• Attend and present updates in weekly engineering or monthly communication meetings as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in the semiconductor, electronics, optoelectronics or fiber‑optics industry.
• Strong understanding of target processes and related equipment.

Required skills

• Experience with burn‑in, final test and vacuum packaging equipment.
• Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) knowledge.
• Machine automation and machine building expertise.
• Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and analyze mechanical and electrical diagrams.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD or other CAD software.
• Comprehensive equipment maintenance skills including repair, calibration and preventive maintenance.
