Component Engineer I

About the role

We are seeking a Component Engineer I to support our engineering teams in selecting, evaluating, and managing electronic components for climate‑technology products. The role ensures components meet technical specifications, regulatory standards, and cost targets while maintaining accurate documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and assess electronic components to verify compliance with specifications and performance criteria.
• Review datasheets, specifications, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) to confirm component suitability.
• Support component lifecycle management, track obsolescence, and source alternatives.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including commodity managers and design engineers.
• Manage Requests for Quotation (RFQs) and perform BOM cost analysis for competitive pricing.
• Maintain organized component libraries and documentation for engineering projects.
• Ensure adherence to industry standards such as RoHS, REACH, UL, and other safety regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, electronics, or mechanical engineering.
• At least one year of experience in component or sales engineering.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with attention to detail.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to read and interpret technical datasheets and specifications.
• Knowledge of a wide range of electronic components, including semiconductors, passive devices, connectors, and electromechanical parts.
• Experience with RFQ management and BOM cost analysis.
