Backend Engineer – Python/Django (Remote, EU Fintech)

About the role

We are looking for a Backend Engineer to design and maintain high‑volume, secure services for our EU‑focused fintech platform. The role is fully remote and works on Manila time.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain scalable backend services and REST APIs using Python and Django.
• Lead performance, scalability and security improvements for a rapidly growing loyalty‑transaction system.
• Collaborate with Product, Operations and Client teams to translate business requirements into repeatable technical solutions.
• Optimize PostgreSQL schema and queries for efficiency and data integrity.
• Oversee AWS infrastructure deployments, ensuring high availability and resilience.
• Monitor production systems, investigate incidents and provide second‑line support to meet SLAs.
• Guide engineering best practices, including code quality, documentation and architectural consistency.
• Support enterprise client onboarding and technical integrations.

Required profile

• Strong backend engineering expertise with a security‑first mindset.
• Proven problem‑solving ability and ownership of end‑to‑end solutions.
• Experience translating business and client requirements into scalable technical designs.
