US Paralegal – Family Law (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Family Law Paralegal to support attorneys handling matrimonial and family law matters for a US law firm. The role is fully remote and focuses on New York State court procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, draft, and review legal documents such as summonses, complaints, motions, stipulations, affidavits, judgments of divorce, and settlement agreements.
• Assist attorneys with contested and uncontested divorce, custody, visitation, child support, spousal maintenance, and enforcement proceedings.
• File documents through the NYSCEF electronic filing system and ensure compliance with court rules and deadlines.
• Maintain case calendars, coordinate scheduling with courts, clients, opposing counsel, and experts.
• Communicate professionally with clients regarding case status, document collection, and procedural matters.
• Prepare exhibits, hearing binders, trial materials, and support mediation, deposition, and trial preparation.
• Conduct legal and factual research as needed and maintain confidential client files.

Required profile

• Associate or bachelor's degree preferred; Philippine JD required.
• Minimum 2 years of family law paralegal experience in New York State.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple cases in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat.
• Experience with the NYSCEF electronic filing system.
