Train Operations Expert

About the role

Join Surbana Jurong as a Train Operations Expert and lead the design, planning, and execution of railway operations in Mandaluyong City. You will work closely with engineering and safety teams to ensure seamless transition from construction to full operational service.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and finalise operational control strategies, including timetable optimisation and headway management.
• Define and review O&M manuals, SOPs, and disaster‑management plans to meet national and international standards.
• Coordinate with engineering to optimise signalling, traction power and rolling stock for operational needs.
• Assist in asset handover from construction to O&M phase, ensuring system readiness.
• Use modelling tools such as RailSys or OpenTrack to simulate train movements and test capacity.
• Define manpower requirements, competency frameworks and training plans for operational staff.
• Create incident‑management procedures for service recovery and emergency response.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Railway Engineering, Transportation Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 10 + years of railway operations experience, with 3‑5 years in a senior or international project‑based role.
• Strong leadership, analytical thinking and stakeholder‑management abilities.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of signalling systems such as ETCS and CBTC.
• Expertise in rolling stock and train scheduling.
• Proficiency with simulation software like RailSys and OpenTrack.
