Technology Architect – Payment Systems

About the role

The Payment Tribe at Globe is looking for a Solution Architect who will lead the design of scalable, secure, and high‑performance systems that power Globe’s digital payment platforms. This role is critical in delivering seamless transaction experiences, supporting real‑time services, and enabling integrations with internal and external payment partners.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop distributed microservices and cloud‑native applications tailored for payment workflows with high availability and performance.
• Define API‑first strategies for services involved in payment processing, wallet integration, billing, and reconciliation.
• Lead the implementation of event‑driven architectures using Kafka and Pub/Sub models for secure, decoupled communication.
• Collaborate with security, operations, and engineering teams to enforce security standards and enable real‑time observability.
• Architect deployment and infrastructure layers using EKS, Terraform, and ArgoCD to ensure reliable automation and scalability.
• Guide CI/CD strategy and practices using GitLab CI, embedding DevSecOps principles into delivery workflows.

Required profile

• At least 15 years of total experience with a minimum of 10 years in Solutions Architecture.
• Proven experience designing and implementing distributed microservices with reliability and scalability in mind.
• Deep understanding of the Kubernetes ecosystem, preferably with EKS in production.
• Expertise in API design for internal services and partner integrations.
• Solid experience with Pub/Sub architectures, ideally using Kafka as the backbone for real‑time messaging.
• Experience architecting in Amazon Web Services (AWS) using cloud‑native services.
• Strong background in infrastructure automation, GitOps, and CI/CD best practices.
