Tax Director

About the role

The Tax Director will lead all tax functions for a fast‑growing consumer‑goods and e‑commerce business, ensuring compliance, accurate provision, and strategic advisory across domestic and international tax matters.

Key responsibilities

• Manage multi‑state corporate income tax compliance and ASC 740 provision for the organization.
• Provide tariff and trade tax advisory, including HTS classification, duty drawback, and customs compliance.
• Oversee annual audit support and external reporting, preparing tax‑related workpapers for Big 4 auditors.
• Lead cross‑functional tax advisory, collaborating with finance, legal, and operations on sales‑use tax, nexus analysis, and exemption certificate management.
• Maintain and enhance tax technology systems, including NetSuite and sales‑tax automation platforms.

Required profile

• BS/BA in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA required.
• 10+ years of tax accounting experience in a large private/public company or a mix of public accounting and industry roles.
• Deep expertise in ASC 740 income‑tax provision and multi‑state corporate tax compliance.
• Proven ability to operate as the sole internal tax resource and support Big 4 external audits.
• Strong research skills and ability to apply GAAP (ASC 740) and the Internal Revenue Code within consumer‑goods, DTC, or subscription commerce contexts.
