Tax Accountant – Australian Tax & Xero Expertise

About the role

We are seeking a meticulous Tax Accountant with strong Australian tax knowledge to support our financial operations. The role combines accurate bookkeeping, financial reporting, and tax compliance while providing actionable insights to the business.

Key responsibilities

• Perform accurate bookkeeping, including recording, reconciling, and maintaining financial transactions.
• Prepare and review financial reports such as balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements.
• Assist in the preparation and filing of tax reports, ensuring compliance with Australian regulatory requirements.
• Audit individual accounts on a scheduled or ad‑hoc basis to verify accuracy.
• Analyze financial data, calculate ratios, and assess the company’s financial health.
• Provide recommendations on budgets, forecasts, and other financial decisions.
• Publish and organize audited financial statements and maintain supporting documentation.
• Conduct financial research to support data‑driven advisory services.
• Execute other accounting and finance‑related ad‑hoc tasks as assigned.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an accountant, preferably with Australian tax knowledge.
• Strong understanding of bookkeeping, financial reporting, and tax documentation.
• Ability to explain complex financial data clearly.
• High attention to detail, strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Self‑disciplined with the capacity to manage multiple tasks independently.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Xero accounting software (required).
• Experience with cloud‑based accounting services.
• Familiarity with desktop‑sharing tools.
• Advanced spreadsheet skills.
