System Administrator

About the role

We are looking for a System Administrator to manage and maintain complex infrastructure components for a banking environment. The role focuses on ensuring high availability, performance and security of critical systems while adhering to corporate policies.

Key responsibilities

• Install and administer major, very‑complex infrastructure components and facilities.
• Maintain infrastructure uptime, performance and security at agreed service levels.
• Ensure infrastructure setup complies with the bank’s security and system administration policies.
• Research industry developments, recommend better or more cost‑effective replacements, and guard against unplanned obsolescence.
• Communicate and coordinate with infrastructure vendors regarding product updates, fixes and support requirements.
• Periodically monitor condition and performance of assigned components and report status to seniors.
• Perform regular housekeeping such as cleanup of unnecessary components, system‑level backup and vendor preventive maintenance.
• Create and maintain operational documents and process guides (e.g., Database Operational Guide, Middleware Operation Guide, OEM/OpsCenter Guide, Control‑M Guide, Database Patching Guide).
• Monitor system logs to identify potential issues and perform routine audits of systems and software.
• Document configuration of assigned components, keep documentation updated and secure, and comply with configuration‑management controls.
• Handle and safeguard super‑user IDs according to policy.
• Train junior infrastructure administrators.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience with database administration, preferably Oracle.
• At least 3 years of experience providing infrastructure support, assisting development teams with database migrations, environment configuration and database upgrades.
