Software Engineer (AI Agents)

About the role

Join Tenext.ai’s small engineering team building AI agents that handle voice and chat interactions for insurers and financial‑services clients. You will own end‑to‑end features of a production platform, from conversational flows to real‑time latency optimisation, working directly with the founder and the founding engineer.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and evolve the agent platform, including conversational flows, RAG pipelines, tool‑calling and multi‑agent patterns.
• Ship full‑stack components using Python FastAPI services and a NestJS + Next.js application layer.
• Integrate, tune and evaluate large language models (OpenAI, Anthropic, open‑source) in production.
• Monitor and optimise production quality metrics such as latency, streaming performance, uptime and token costs.
• Review code, mentor junior teammates and raise engineering standards.
• Work with AI‑native productivity tools (Cursor, Claude, Copilot) to accelerate development.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of professional software‑engineering experience delivering production features.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced startup environment serving enterprise financial‑services clients.
• Strong sense of ownership and accountability for shipped code.
• Ability to make security‑ and uptime‑focused decisions under tight timelines.
