Software Asset Management Specialist – 12‑Month Contract

About the role

The Software Asset Management Specialist is an individual contributor responsible for processing high volumes of software licensing orders, ensuring compliance, and optimizing license usage across the organization. You will collaborate with internal project and support teams, IT, and external suppliers to deliver accurate licensing solutions while driving cost‑saving initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Process software requests through defined lifecycle and ensure timely ordering and delivery of licenses.
• Maintain a single source of truth for all software assets, capturing purchase details, entitlements, keys, and activation information.
• Respond to escalations and licensing queries from stakeholders.
• Support software installation activities and coordinate with vendors, SCCM/Intune teams, and on‑site support.
• Engage in license optimization initiatives and collaborate with engineering teams.
• Provide reporting for audit and compliance requirements.
• Contribute inputs to financial and budgetary processes and maintain a software renewals calendar.
• Analyze operational metrics, identify gaps, and recommend improvements aligned with ITSM practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in an ITIL‑aligned operational role, preferably in Software Asset Management.
• Strong understanding of the ITIL framework and ability to apply its principles.
• Proven experience with ServiceNow for asset management.
• Enthusiasm for continual improvement and change management.
