About the role

The Sewage Treatment Plant Operator ensures safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the sewage treatment facility, complying with Philippine Clean Water Act standards. The role involves monitoring equipment, handling chemicals, and maintaining plant performance.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor pumps, control panels, dosing pumps, air blowers, and reactors.
• Adjust flow of incoming wastewater using valves and remote controls.
• Record instrument readings, flow rates, and other operational data in logbooks.
• Report abnormalities to the SHE Manager and coordinate emergency actions with the SHE Department.
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil lubrication, minor repairs on valves and pumps, and housekeeping of the plant area.
• Operate chemical‑feeding devices, collect water samples, and conduct basic laboratory tests to maintain proper chemical levels.

Required profile

• Ability to follow environmental regulations (RA 9275) and internal safety procedures.
• Attention to detail for accurate logging and reporting.
• Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment inspection and minor repairs.

Required skills

• Operation of sewage treatment equipment (pumps, blowers, reactors).
• Monitoring and interpreting instrumentation and gauges.
• Chemical dosing and water sampling.
• Basic laboratory testing of wastewater.
• Equipment maintenance including lubrication and minor repairs.
