Senior Tax Accountant – Australian Taxation (30K Sign‑on Bonus)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Tax Accountant with deep expertise in Australian taxation to act as a trusted advisor for our business and individual clients. The role involves managing complex tax compliance, providing strategic advice, and mentoring junior accountants while ensuring high‑quality deliverables.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts, and partnerships, ensuring accuracy and timely lodgement.
• Calculate and document CGT, depreciation, Division 7A loans, inter‑company loan reconciliations, and hire‑purchase agreements.
• Develop workpapers, resolve financial statement discrepancies, and maintain comprehensive client records.
• Conduct peer reviews of junior staff, support process improvements, and handle ad‑hoc tax projects.
• Provide technical guidance on taxation, accounting, and compliance matters to the team.
• Manage workflow, monitor deadlines, and coordinate with internal stakeholders to gather information.
• Prepare internal management reports highlighting key financial insights.
• Identify and implement process‑improvement opportunities and maintain quality‑assurance documentation.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Australian tax compliance.
• Bachelor of Science in Accountancy or equivalent.
• Proficiency with Xero accounting software (mandatory).
• Strong competence in tax and accounting tools and regulations.
• Experience with FYIDocs is advantageous.
