Senior Network Engineer – Remote Night Shift

About the role

Safari Micro, a U.S.-based MSP, is expanding its Philippines IT Support Team. The Senior Network Engineer will work remotely from the Philippines on a fixed night‑shift (11 PM‑8 AM PH time) and report to the VP of Technical Services, collaborating closely with the US‑based Senior Network Engineer.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary Level 3 escalation point for complex network incidents and major outages.
• Lead network implementation, migration, upgrade and infrastructure improvement projects, ensuring performance, scalability and security.
• Design, deploy and optimize enterprise networks including routers, switches, wireless, firewalls, VPNs, SD‑WAN and hybrid cloud connectivity (Azure & AWS).
• Drive vulnerability remediation, audit and compliance activities.
• Conduct network assessments, root‑cause analyses, capacity planning and performance tuning.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, network diagrams and knowledge‑base resources.

Required profile

• 5+ years of solid network engineering experience with a focus on troubleshooting and infrastructure projects.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Exceptional problem‑solving ability and a customer‑first mindset.
• Self‑motivated, dependable and documentation‑driven.

Required skills

• Cisco, Extreme, Sophos, Fortinet, Aruba networking equipment.
• Wireless networking (Extreme, Cisco, Fortinet, Aruba).
• Virtualization platforms: VMware, Hyper‑V, KVM, XEN, Azure Stack.
• Microsoft technologies: Windows Server, Exchange, SharePoint, SCCM, Endpoint Management.
• Cloud platforms: Microsoft Azure (IaaS, PaaS, AVD), AWS networking.
• Backup solutions: Veeam, Datto.
• Ticketing tool: ConnectWise.
