Senior Legal Counsel – Corporate & Litigation

About the role

OceanaGold is seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join its Makati office. The role will ensure compliance with Philippine laws and internal governance standards while supporting the Didipio mine operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement legal strategies for litigation, regulatory compliance, labor issues, and dispute resolution.
• Represent the company in negotiations, settlements, grievance management, and hearings.
• Manage a portfolio of legal matters, prioritize tasks, and allocate resources effectively.
• Conduct stakeholder mapping and recommend engagement strategies aligned with OceanaGold standards.
• Oversee external relationships to enhance the company’s influence and credibility.
• Identify opportunities to use stakeholder engagement for strategic benefit.
• Develop contractor management strategies, perform due diligence, and liaise on contractual disputes.

Required profile

• Qualified and experienced legal professional with a graduate degree in law.
• Proven ability to manage complex legal and litigation matters.
• Strong stakeholder and government relations experience.
