Senior Internal Communications Specialist (Dayshift - Homebased)

About the role

The Senior Internal Communications Specialist will manage day‑to‑day internal communications for a large Australian‑owned hydraulics group. Working remotely on a dayshift, you will plan, write, produce and schedule messages across multiple channels to ensure staff receive clear, accurate and timely information.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update internal channels including the intranet, email newsletters, digital screens, noticeboards and collaboration tools.
• Write and edit a variety of communications such as announcements, newsletters, intranet articles, leadership messages, FAQs and printed site notices.
• Create simple graphics and layouts using Canva to complement written content.
• Tailor communications for individual businesses while preserving a consistent style across the Group.
• Own the internal communications calendar and align messaging with business events and safety/operational updates.
• Coordinate timing of releases to avoid conflicts and work closely with the on‑shore People and Culture lead.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in internal or corporate communications.
• Excellent written and editing skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Ability to manage multiple audiences and adapt content to different business units.
• Self‑motivated and comfortable working remotely.
• Strong collaboration skills with cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Canva for basic graphic creation.
• Experience using intranet platforms, email/newsletter tools and digital signage systems.
• Familiarity with collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams or Slack.
