Senior Associate, Program Implementation

About the role

The Senior Associate, Program Implementation will lead the FairCatch Sarangani Bay Project, a 21‑month initiative aimed at improving fisheries transparency, surveillance and sustainable practices in Kiamba and Maitum, Philippines. Reporting to the Program Implementation Director, the role works closely with local government units, community groups and national agencies to deliver project outcomes on time and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Organise and facilitate the project kick‑off and inception workshops.
• Establish a field presence in target municipalities and set up project committees.
• Implement environmental and social safeguards in line with project requirements.
• Manage financial reporting, budgeting and compliance with donor guidelines.
• Lead the deployment and use of digital monitoring, control and surveillance (MCS) tools.
• Coordinate with the Protected Area Management Board, DENR, DA‑BFAR and coastal communities to secure gender‑responsive fishing agreements.
• Monitor progress, prepare regular status reports and adjust activities to meet milestones.

Required profile

• University degree in environmental science, fisheries management, development studies or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience managing development or conservation programmes, preferably in coastal or fisheries contexts.
• Demonstrated ability to work with government agencies, NGOs and local communities.
• Strong leadership, analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Excellent written and spoken English; knowledge of local languages is a plus.
