Projects & Services Financial Controller – MEA

About the role

The Projects & Services Financial Controller will support business and financial leaders by delivering analytical insights and financial reporting for regional projects and services. The role focuses on improving consolidation processes, ensuring accurate revenue recognition, and providing timely project performance analysis across the MEA region.

Key responsibilities

• Validate project setups and re‑forecast projects according to project manager requirements.
• Troubleshoot inter‑project time and expense transfers and ensure correct revenue recognition, including POC%, cost, revenues, WIP, and backlog.
• Monitor work‑in‑progress, unbilled receivables, and ensure timely project closure in the system.
• Produce monthly project and portfolio reports, variance analysis, and forecasts, broken down by organizational unit.
• Track core financial and non‑financial project elements such as quality, time, and cost.
• Analyze performance trends, compare actual results against plans, and identify risks and deviations.
• Allocate project costs accurately by tracking internal and external purchasing and labor expenses.
• Partner with local, regional, and global teams to provide data stewardship, metrics, analysis, reporting, and compliance support.
• Prepare files for project review meetings, handle complex invoicing issues, and act as a point of contact for system‑related queries.
• Promote continuous process improvement, develop training documentation, and back‑up project accounting staff as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; leadership experience is a plus.
• Experience in a shared‑service or multinational environment is advantageous.
• Strong analytical, research, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to independently organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks.

Required skills

• Advanced knowledge of ERP systems (Oracle, SAP).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
