Project Inspector – Upper Basin Engineer

About the role

The Project Inspector – Upper Basin Engineer oversees on‑site inspection, supervision and coordination of upper‑basin works for dam and hydropower projects. The role ensures construction is performed safely, complies with approved designs and standards, and supports timely delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Implement project‑specific HSE plans and enforce permit‑to‑work systems.
• Inspect and verify upper‑basin structures such as intakes, canals, tunnels, access roads and slope protection against drawings and specifications.
• Identify hazards, review RAMS, and coordinate safety controls with HSE officers and contractors.
• Monitor contractor workmanship, detect non‑conformances and recommend corrective actions.
• Witness testing, surveys and inspections; prepare daily, weekly and monthly inspection reports.
• Participate in safety inductions, toolbox meetings and progress coordination meetings.
• Maintain inspection checklists, photographic records and support handover documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Water Resources or Hydraulic Engineering or a related discipline.
• 7–10 years of experience in hydropower, dam or water‑resources projects.
• 3–5 years of direct construction‑phase experience inspecting upper‑basin structures.
• Proven experience supervising earthworks, concrete works, slope protection and hydraulic structures.
