Project Inspector – Electrical Engineer (Wawa)

About the role

SMEC Philippines is seeking a licensed Electrical Engineer to act as Project Inspector for the Wawa project. The role involves supervising, inspecting and ensuring quality of electrical construction works on large‑scale infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct daily inspections of electrical installations to verify compliance with approved plans, specifications and standards.
• Monitor installation of power distribution systems, switchgear, transformers, control panels, cables, grounding and lighting systems.
• Verify that delivered materials and equipment meet technical specifications.
• Witness and oversee testing and commissioning activities of electrical systems and equipment.
• Ensure works follow approved method statements, construction procedures and relevant codes.
• Review inspection and test plans, quality control records and test reports submitted by contractors.
• Identify non‑conforming works, recommend corrective actions and verify punch‑list completion before acceptance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Registered Electrical Engineer (licensed) in the Philippines.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical construction supervision, inspection or quality control.
• Experience with hydropower, pumped storage, power generation, substations or transmission projects is preferred.
• Familiarity with electrical testing and commissioning procedures.
• Knowledge of the Philippine Electrical Code (PEC), IEC and IEEE standards.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and engineering documentation systems.
