Plantation Manager (Palm Oil Plantation)

About the role

The Plantation Manager oversees all aspects of palm oil plantation operations, from land development to harvesting, ensuring efficiency, cost‑effectiveness, and compliance with environmental and safety standards. The role is pivotal in maximizing yield per hectare and maintaining long‑term productivity and profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and supervise land clearing, nursery management, transplanting and field establishment.
• Schedule and oversee maintenance activities such as fertilisation, pruning, pest and disease control, and weed management.
• Manage harvesting operations to ensure timely collection of fresh fruit bunches (FFB) with optimal quality.
• Monitor crop performance, yield levels and field productivity to meet production targets.
• Supervise field staff, assign work, monitor performance and enforce discipline.
• Prepare and manage operational budgets, cost controls and input utilisation.
• Maintain and improve plantation infrastructure including roads, drainage, irrigation and field facilities.
• Ensure compliance with RSPO and other environmental, safety and sustainability regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Plantation Management or related field (oil palm specialisation preferred).
• 3–5 years of experience managing large‑scale oil palm plantations.
• Strong knowledge of oil palm agronomy, field operations and harvesting systems.
• Proven ability to supervise manpower, plan operations and control costs.
• Familiarity with sustainability certification standards such as RSPO.
