Operator I – Production Line Operator

About the role

Microchip Technology is seeking an Operator I to join its manufacturing team. The role involves operating assigned equipment on a production line, ensuring product quality, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives in a fast‑paced, technology‑driven environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform 6S activities before and after each shift.
• Follow operational specifications and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the assigned area.
• Hand‑off line status to incoming shifts and keep certification badges up to date.
• Maintain product quality, aiming for zero lot rejection.
• Deliver required output while meeting utilization and capacity targets.
• Escalate any line problems to the Supervisor or Lead Operator.
• Set up and isolate stations, addressing minor set‑up or machine issues.
• Record machine downtime, lot history, and any splitting/merging transactions in real time.
• Notify the supervisor if unable to report for work.
• Participate in suggestion programs and strictly follow company rules and safety regulations.

• Ability to perform all essential duties reliably.
• Willingness to work shift schedules and follow SOPs.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Effective communication with supervisors and team members.
